If you have the slightest doubt as to the commands to perform on your alarm system, do not run the risk of accidentally modifying your alarm system programming and contact your Alarm installer immediately.
Before you begin, consult your user manual which should have been given to you by your alarm installer: it contains all the relevant user information as well as an overview of your alarm system controls.
The following instructions apply mainly to residential systems with recent equipment (no more than 10 years old). Certain advice can also apply to systems installed on Commercial premises,but the following will only cover the most basic alarm systems.

First begin by downloading the Manual of your alarm system from the manufacturers website: www.dsc.com
The keyboard is emitting a tone (« BEEP ») and the trouble light is on.
To have the tone from the keypad cease when there is a trouble, press on [#] then on [2]. To know the type of trouble on your panel, consult your user manual. Always contact your installer promptly to signal the malfunction.
Cannot arm the system because a zone LED is always open.
Make sure that you have closed all the doors and windows and cease all movement in front of the detectors. If you are still not able to arm your system, you can exclude or bypass the zone that stays open by pressing [*] and then [1] and enter the zone you wish to bypass on the keypad.
o Example: for an older panel: [*] [1] and [2] for zone 2
o Example: for a newer panel: [*] [1] and [0] [2] for zone 2
Contact your Alarm Installer promptly to signal the malfunction.
Smoke detector - how to stop the siren for a false alarm
Your installer probably left you with specific instructions for your installation: it is best to follow them. However, here is some advice that may help you if you don't know what to do.
1. Contact your alarm Central with your identification code handy to signal the false alarm;
2. Air out the premise by opening windows and doors;
3. Key in your code on the keyboard to make the audible alarm cease (on some systems)
4. If your smoke detector is connected to the alarm panel with a relay for an alarm reset, punch in [*] [7] [2] on the keyboard.
