It is important to differentiate between your access code, or keypad code, and you identification code or password.

The access code or keypad code are the digits you enter on the keypad to arm and disarm the system.

Your identification code or password is the code you use to identify yourself when talking to the operators at the central.

Certain clients use the same four-digit code for both the keypad and password. This may seem easier however someone could catch one or the other either while the client is talking to the operators or when arming or disarming the alarm system and use this information to compromise the security system. Try to avoid this practice!!

Ashton Central allows an identification code or password of up to 10 characters (numbers or letters). It is possible to opt for an identification code or password that is familiar to you that will be easy to remember. This can save you the unwarranted dispatch of the police, as you will easily remember your password when dealing with the central operators.

Also, although it makes it easier to remember, do not use a code similar to that of another PIN you use, such as your bank card number, and avoid using obvious codes such as 1234 or your birth date.
